About Katie

Katie is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker offering counselling for individuals, couples and families. She offers face to face appointments in the Lower Blue Mountains as well as online video or phone appointments to those further afield. 

Katie has particular experience and interest in:

• Anxiety / depression (including pre- and post-natal experiences of anxiety and/or depression, workplace stress, difficulties with self-esteem, the mental load of motherhood and more general relationship stress)

• Parenting (including parents having difficulty understanding and responding to their children's challenging behaviours, family conflict and burn out)

• Couples & families (including conflict and communication difficulties)

• Grief, loss & trauma (including experiences of domestic violence, abuse and neglect, child removal, pregnancy loss and natural disaster)

• Children (when it comes to children's mental health Katie prefers to see the parent/carer to assist them in supporting their child's recovery instead of seeing the child)

• Adolescents (Katie is happy to see adolescents for therapy so long as at least one parent/carer is also willing to attend sessions when appropriate).

• Professional Supervision (for Social Workers and therapists - individual and group)

Katie lives in the Lower Blue Mountains with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys bush walking, cooking, gardening and reading. Prior to becoming a counsellor Katie worked in the music industry and still holds a passion for music and creativity.
